ADMISSIONS

Steps to Enrolling at The Chase Academy

  •   Go to www.stepupforstudents.org:

    • Click on the RED "Apply/Login" button at the top of the screen to make an account.

    • Once you have an account, you must add your student's information in under "My Students."

    • After your student is added, please apply for the applicable scholarship: the Family Empowerment Scholarship for Unique Abilities, which is based off of a student's disability, and requires submission of diagnosis - they have a list of accepted documents, and a lot of our parents have had success using their IEP. This is also usually at LEAST $2,000 more than the other; or, you can apply for the Family Empowerment Scholarship for Educational Opportunity, which is based off of income. You will be required to submit proof of address and ANY household income, including food stamps, social security, etc. This is NOT a "if you make too much, you don't qualify" scholarship - this is a scholarship available to any student in the state of Florida who wants to go to a private school, the system just wants proof that you live and receive income in the state.

    • Please note you CANNOT have both and/or apply for both!

    • Once the scholarship application is submitted, keep an eye on your email for updates, especially an "ON HOLD" update - this means something is wrong with one of your documents, and Step Up will NOT look at the entire application until this issue is fixed.

  • Call 386-310-7879 and arrange for a facility tour.

    • Facility Tours are given with 24 hours notice Monday – Friday, between 9am and 2pm, with the LAST appointment being 1:30pm. Tours are given every half hour.

    • Please make sure you BRING your student with you, as part of our admissions process is for the child to meet the Administrative team so they can figure out what room would be the best placement for them, and if any additional services, such as ABA, should be required.

    • Receive a copy of the Student Application packet to take home and complete.

  • Return the completed application with a copy of your student’s scholarship Student & Award ID # (you can take a screenshot) and necessary documents:

    • Registration and Enrollment Fees totaling $300 are due at the time of submission in order to hold your child’s place in the classroom.

    • Please refer to the Student Application packet to see what other documents you need to bring in. This usually includes a copy of your child's birth certificate, shot records, etc.

  • Notify your previous PUBLIC or PRIVATE school of your official withdrawal on or before August 12.

    • Ensure your child is not enrolled in Public School (both the school AND the county) because this will affect funding for the quarter – cancelling or delaying the funds from reaching your account. You can also complete a request for student records to be emailed or to our school, but you MUST make sure they are withdrawn from both the school themselves AND the county, usually Volusia County Schools.

    • Private schools should be emailing student records.

    • Email to kjackson@TCAofVolusia.org

  • Schedule your first Parent Conference between the two weeks of teacher planning and the first day of school, which is usually the LAST Monday of August.

    • Student Attendance and Handbook signature sheets will be available during Orientation. Both will be emailed to you prior to Parent Orientation, along with the Student Supplies List and School Calendar (also available on our "Events" page).
